Is there anything that can be sprayed, sprinkled, or otherwise used to keep snakes away from 5 wk old chicks. Their coop has one inch wire as nd is on the ground.

What size/kind of snakes do you deal with? Think fine mesh hardware cloth (1/4" or smaller) would keep them out?

I'm not sure what kind it was, but a tan with some black/brown stripes got one of my first chicks. I just wanted to prevent it if possible with this group. I didn' t know about the hardware cloth. Thanks, I'll get some.
