Okay, the video is rubbish -- I can only ever get about a ten-second clip uploaded.
So, what you're seeing is the return of Limpychick and her new consort, their first stand-off against Tooshtoosh and The Gang of Five, now eight-month-olds.
I've watched for this particular behaviour for a long time. Chicks will rush in -- ahead of their Dad -- to attack an intruder; but they always screech to a halt at the last second, and leave Dad to do the heavy lifting.
But two months ago, I saw a chick just six months old 'big up' against this same female. Now, you gotta dig the relative weights here. Limpychick is a full-grown female. The chick was a ball of feathers weighing less than a turkey.
But today I saw what I've been looking for. Now, the Gang of Five did not come roaring into the attack. They got diverted by a couple of slices of apple left by Limpychick. And there's another clip showing Tooshtoosh chasing Limpychick into the trees.
But watch the video carefully. Right at the end, you see the chick, at right, juuuuust starting to 'big up.' What I then saw was this chick and another indeed big up for some seconds.
