Just in case anyone wants to waste your time (like I just did for the last 4 hours) watching chicks hatch.....Oregon State Univ. Has a live webfeed up, you can watch here. I dont have any eggs going at the moment...but its almost just as fun watching someone else's hatch! Join the suspense....one is about ready to push out.

I have the same Bator, had a 6/7 hatch rate not including infertile eggs, did some research and they haven't changed the design for 40 years!
I guess if it works...dont change it? I would think the "wires" where the eggs sit work well for incubation, but they seem to kind of pin the egg against the wall & get in the way of the baby chicks sometimes....what have you experienced? We made an incubator, and have had great hatch rates...amazing ones actually for a home made one. but it has lots of wide open space for the hatched chicks to move around.
