Ugh I don’t even know how to write this. I have a chicken that a couple months ago developed water belly.. maybe longer than that. Which all of my research is saying is pretty grim eventually. She’s has more good days than bad and has some good quality of life so I’ve let her be. But most days she is relatively lethargic, but good. She now has what I believe to be bumble foot. However it does not have a scab or head that I can find to treat. So from what I understand I would need to do the foot surgery. With her already being In a sort of way with the water belly I’m hesitant to put her through a surgery and lower her quality of life. As terrible as it feels I’m wondering if it’s just coming close to being time. I haven’t run into this with my chickens and I hate it, but I don’t want her to be in pain. Is there something else I can do? Should I wait? We are going on vacay this coming week so I was thinking I’d reasses when I come back but thought I would get more tenured chicken keepers thoughts on the matter. I will post pics when I have the opportunity later today hopefully. Side note a vet is not really an option.

Photos of the foot - bottom and top?

Is she favoring the foot or limping?

If she's able to get around, then I'd wait until you are going to be able to treat/take care of her foot for a few weeks if necessary.

I wasn’t able to get picks before we had to leave:(. Her belly is about 3xs it’s normal size and it affects how she walks.. she visibly waddles a bit like a duck but is still able to move around relatively easily. She is not limping very much if at all from the swollen foot. We will see how she is when we get back. My neighbor girl is watching them for the week. Will report back when we get home.

Sometimes draining the fluid from the abdomen can give them some relief and make them more comfortable.
Alternatively, since she's still moving about, you could try giving a detox which some find helpful and you don't have to worry about sticking her with a needle.
Just some thoughts there. They can also struggle more when it's hot weather too, so hopefully she will get through the hot months and begin to feel a bit better when it's cooler.

Here's a little info about the Aloe Detox https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...le-to-move-now-laid-egg.1446105/post-24045478
