I have freaked myself into thinking my chicken has water belly. Is this just her crop?

The crop is in a completely different place than water belly should be. Water belly manifests between their legs usually.
That does look like her crop but the fact that it is bald gives me concern. She is pulling feathers out of it for some reason. I've seen this happen with mites/lice, but not specifically on the crop.
I hope someone else can chime in with better insight.

I thought so but I am a first time chicken mama and I am just concerned as my chicken is currently sick.

She went to the vet on 4/1 as her rear end was very red and she had plucked out all her feathers on it. She was prescribed antibiotics as well as a pain/ inflammation reducer which I have her for 10 days. She received her last dose today.

Her rear end is looking much better it is no longer red and inflamed. The first picture below is before she went to vet and the following picture is now. She seemed to be on the mend.

Since yesterday I have noticed she is acting very lethargic and her droppings are concerning to me. They look very yellow and almost oily and smell a lot more foul than normal. (See photos of her poop) She is not eating or drinking much I have gotten her to drink some and eat a tiny bit. But she doesn’t want to be active and move around she just wants to lay there and sleep. She is also not as talkative as usual.

She has no mites/ lice or anything like that. She laid an egg on Tuesday. I gave her an epsom salt bath today and also used gloves and lubricant to check if she was egg bound but I did not feel any egg in her vent.

I have had my chickens since last spring and this is the first time one of my chickens has been sick so I’m pretty inexperienced with this situation.

Sorry for all of the information any advice is appreciated.

The yellow urates in the dropping are usually a sign of either liver disease or water belly. I had several with water belly, and when the abdomen was opened, there was yellow fluid that came out. Water belly or ascites is common with reproductive disorders, fatty liver hemorrhagic disease, cancer and heart failure. Many times we don’t know the cause of death until after a necropsy can be done. Here is where to contact your state vet for a necdopsy:

Update - I took my girl to the vet today and unfortunately we made the decision to euthanize her. She had a reproductive issue and a severe case of egg yolk peritonitis.
