Water in Incubator

Can I add water in my incubator on the first day of egg setting?

What kind of eggs and what's your humidity reading (per your hygrometer)?

Chicken eggs..Actually.. and my humidity is 54%

Dark or light chicken eggs? 54% humidity would be high for where I am - I wouldn't add any water.

Light Chicken Egg tho

I find lighter-colored eggs to be more forgiving with regard to humidity levels, but I'd still keep the humidity at closer to 40-45%.
