water inside coop for winter?

I keep mine inside for the winter also. I use the rubber pans so that ice removal is easy. I just place it up on concrete blocks out of the deep litter and this works well for me. When it is really cold I hang a light over it to keep it thawed but this is usually not warranted. The deep litter keeps the coop pretty warm and the water rarely freezes since I started using this.

Cut air vents in to the coop and use a vent that you can open or close to allow air circulation. I am using floor registers fixed in to the wall to allow air in/out. Cost about $6 from Home Depot, just cut a hole for it to push in to. I used sealant to hold it snugly inplace....

Or why not, if you have power, fix an extractor fan (like used in bathrooms) to pull the moist air out.

Has anyone tried to put a rubber water pan inside a tire where the rim would go? Stuff the tire with hay to insulate the water to slow down freezing?
