So my DH has been have intestinal issues for over year the doctor has been unable to find anything, so we decided try more natural remedies to restore balance to his gut in the form of probiotics from water kefir, plus I want to try it too.
So after work today I went to pick up 1/2 cup of water kefir grains, she ended up giving me 2 cups of grains. However for lunch today me and my coworkers went and got ice cream and I am lactose intolerant-- you can see where this is going--hence to say I didn't ask all the questions I should have as I was in a rush to leave. But that is why I can sit at home and ask all of you guys right? So right now I have my kefir grains in a gallon of water with a cup of sugar- does that sound right.
When will this be ready to use and how often do I need to feed and refresh the water? If I do end up killing it how will I know? Also I know you can flavor it with syrups any great recipes or ways to try it?
