Water refresher for algae?

Can I use a water refresher additive to keep algae away?
I’m leaving for 4 days, but I’m having to wash their waterer everyday to clean off the algae. And I’m trying to avoid it, at least while I’m gone.
Any other tips to prepare them for 4 days in South Carolina are welcome! I have someone collecting eggs, but they won’t be doing “chicken chores”

It’s in their covered run, so it’s in the shade. I don’t know if it’s the humidity, the well water…I just know it’s annoying lol

I just looked up stock man’s and that seems perfect! The barley won’t be a problem for them, right?

We have an algae issue here, and so many people speak to using a chunk of copper pipe in their water. Even farmers put huge lengths of copper tubing in their water tanks. We tried that a few years ago and it helped, as the green floaties didn't show up, but there still was clear round things floating. I'd try that as where you are maybe that'd work, but it must be something with our well. We've had it tested so it's safe for everyone.

We found the RV water freshener worked though. We put a few drops in the 2-gallon waterers and 1/2 tablespoon in the 5-gallon ones.

We got it at Walmart a couple of years ago. It keeps the water crystal clear.

That’s what I bought. Then I started doubting myself lol! I also got the barley packs. Thank you! I’ll give it a try!

Did you figure out which water supplement worked better the RV stuff or the Barley stuff ? I’m having the same issues

I'm curious, what kind of waterer are you using? Do you have a picture? I've never had algae in my waterers so I was wondering if there's something about the design, or what.

Here are the waterers I believe they are 8 gallon I cleaned them and put vinegar in the water and it has helped a lot
