Water soluble vitamins and electrolites

Anyone ever added this (from powder) to the water for their chicks? Good or bad idea? If it's a good idea, how early can you start? Thanks.

hi when i had baby chicks i was told to give them sugar in their water for the first couple of days to get them active and more lively but tafter that i would put in some vitamins and electrolytes didnt hurt em i heard it was good

Adding vitamins and electrolytes to the water every day for the first week helps the chicks thru any shipping stress and helps boost their immunity. I usually add it once a week after thet until they are about 6 weeks old. I then use it anytime they are under other stresses like illness, moving to a new pen, etc.

It's a good idea. I've done that till peeps were older or till the electrolytes were used up.
