Do I need to worry about the temperature of the water I give to week-old chicks? I know that it will acclimate in a short time, but should I worry about when it first goes in to the brooder?

Yes, it should be at least room temp, or a bit above. Water that is too cold can mess with their digestion, and cause the dreaded poopy butt.
