I'm going to get chicks in the summer and i was wondering, is it true that you put a marble in their water to get them to drink?

Not that it gets them to drink but stops small chicks from accidentally getting in the lip of the water and drowning.

Yep, it just helps prevent them from drowning. It doesn't do a thing for them drinking.

When you get the chicks, you need to take a couple of them and dip their beaks into the water. They will figure out it is there and what it is for that way and the others will follow.
