Waterer too far - extreme winter

it gets to -40f here occasionally as well. gave up on giving liquid water in winter. they just eat the snow in the run. on really cold days ill give them a large bowl warm watery oatmeal to help them warm up

This is encouraging! I hope it works for you and you dont lose any chickens. How many birds do you have?
