So last year I bought some plasson bell waterers and they are great. I purchased more this year. My issue is the amount of attachments I need to purchase from homedepot or lowes to get the hose to attach to the bucket. In total was about $9 per bucket.

Does anyone out there have any other methods or attachments to attach the hose to the bucket? Including where to purchase the T's to connect 2 buckets to one waterer?

That's the same price I pay for my bucket connectors. I looked all over online and couldn't find anything cheaper. You should be able to pick-up a nylon "T" at any hardware store. I have all mine hooked to 2 or 3 buckets.

The oustside diameter of Plasson 210077 Black Tubing (standard equipment w/ a completer Breeder/Layer water) is slightly larger than 3/8".
To take this all out of the realm of a science fair project do the following;
Cut the end of the black tubing on a sharp angle. Bore a test hole in some scrap material simular to the bottom of the bucket. Push the pointed end of the cut tube through the hole. Grasp the pointed end on the other side of the material and twist and pull it through the hole untill all of the cut end are through. If this is somewhat difficult you have the right size hole and will create a watertight connection.
When you know the right size hole drill the bottom of the bucket and use the same process to insert the correct length of tube you need through the hole.
Connect to the hose barb on the waterer.

There are small inline shutoff valves made for the tubing. About a buck apiece, I think without looking it up.

Potential problem-
Without available unions the bucket and tube are pretty much one unit.

Yup. Drill a hole in the bucket. For winter storage we loop the hose inside the bucket and put the drinker upside-down on top of the bucket. Fits like a glove. Hose never leaves the hole again.

Neil and Sundowner,

Never thought of that. Can cut the hose to length add my T and perfect got my 10 gallons. Do you put a screen or anythign over the ends of the tubing or do you not have clogging problems?
