I guess everyone who has quail has problems with the birds soiling their own water dish. A couple times a day I go out and empty the nasty water and give them new. I'm wondering if the birds would drink from a guinea pig/ rabbit waterer. I know some birds will drink from these things. Do you think my birds will?

yes ya can get them from a bottle drinker. ya can check out the link in my sig for the waterers i sell just for this occasion

all mine drink from a water bottle. never had a problem getting them to accept it.

Yes it's really easy to train them to drink from a bottle. Mone love it and so do I i wash out bottles a lot less than dishes

I don't know how these birds get it done but it seems like half their droppings end up in their water and half in the food.

They'll drink from a bottle with no training. When offered both a bottle and a dish from day 1 my chicks will start using the bottle first. The adults pick it up within minutes when they get thirsty. I try to use bottles with all my birds but it's not always possible to adjust them to the brooders or my more creative button pens. The buttons especially need a very small bottle or they can't move the ball and that usually requires a custom hanger to get it that far in to my glass tanks. With the coturnix it was easy to put a 16 or 32oz bottle on their wire sided pens.
