My Barred Rock rooster has one watery eye. I think this is unrelated, but just for history, my flock currently has a case of scaly leg mite which seems to be on the mend (treating with melaleuca & vaseline).
Other than him just not seeming quite as spunky as usual, there are no other visual symptoms (yet). Any ideas what it could be or what to do (if anything)?

You'll want to keep an eye out for infectious Coryza. Have you introduced any new chickens lately? I can't recall all the symptoms, but the most distinctive one is an awful smell around the head. Other possible causes are a nutritional deficiency, or the coop has too much ammonia buildup and/or not enough ventilation. Since they are battling mites, you might want to add avia charge or similar vitamins/electrolytes to the water, and make sure their diet is top notch!

I picked him up and had a good look at his eyes and head last night, and didn't notice any odour. Their coop is quite dry. I noticed this just before I added the new pullets from my other coop... I hope I haven't infected them now! He is still not his usual self. I am going to read through my Storeys Guide and see if anything seems to fit. Any further suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated!
