Hi all is been a while.
My Xander (rooster) woke up with one side of his wattle swollen and somewhat purple. I warm compressed it and applied some vasoline. Not sure what else to do ? We are in NM and weather has been cold but there coop seemed to be holding heat, I have a heater under the coop part they sleep but not one inside and today is the first time I noticed this despite having colder nights. Any suggestions?

It could help to see a picture of the wattles. It could be frostbite, a pecking injury, or a sting/tick bite. Look for any marks or stings

A picture would help greatly! Purple, blue or darkening of the comb or waddles can be a symptom of Fowl cholera.
