Is this the start of wattles on my cochin? It'll be 4 weeks old early next week.

The first picture is the picture in question and the others are just for reference of what the chick looks like.

Thank you!

Most chicks get wattles. Just watch for them to get red or grow rapidly. So far I don't see anything on the Buff Cochin that makes me think it's a cockerel just yet. :D
I hope you're right lol. I'm pretty sure the d'Uccle is a cockerel, and I don't want to rehome these, so if I have 2 cockerels, I'll be getting more bantams to hopefully balance the numbers, lol. Here's my suspected male.

That one does look suspicious. I have two for sure little cockerels in my batch of 9 assorted bantams. One I've already decided I'm going to sell because he's way too skittish. I'm just waiting for him to feather out more so I know specifically which breed he is when I list him.

Hopefully you're able to find him a good home. Neither of mine are skittish at the moment. In fact, these 2 are the ones that always fly up out of the brooder to land on me and they're the ones who prefer to hang out on my leg while I'm in the floor with them.

This is 100% normal. Almost all chicks have the wattle slit. The d'Uccle is absolutely suspicious, but my understanding is that the breed is very easy to sex in the 4-6 week range. If she's going to pop a comb, it should happen soon!
Thank you so much! I just love my little cochin. It's the sweetest thing. I definitely won't be rehoming these, so I'm rooting for the 3 that are not the d'Uccle to be girls!
