Got me thinking when I saw that post about the death clock, lol.
Our property will be paid off by the end of the year & MIL wants to be buried here. Why pay a funeral home or a cemetery? I totally agree, there's no other place I'd want to be buried.
So have any of yall have done this? Is it something you need a lawyer for or can ya do it yourself?
Thanks,Miriam

You need to check into your local laws. Where i live it is illegal to bury a human on your property. My friend had to get special permission to bury her horse on her 100 acre property.

Miriam,

Check with a local funeral home...they would know if there are any restrictions in your Parish code or Louisiana code. You'll still have to have a cement vault and approved coffin and the body will still have to be embalmed to state code. You'll just save the cost of the plot itself.

I do know there are folks around who have families cemeteries on their property close by to where I live. So I think that won't be a problem.
I'll have to do some more research about it.
Thanks a bunch
