Hi everyone.
Our family has had chickens before many years ago but now we have 6 ISA Browns and we love those ladies.
I know it’s not a lot but we did not want to take on too many that we could not handle. 6 for us is perfect.
To most people, chickens are underrated. I think more people should experience what chickens give to you in return. They are such amazing animals. It’s super amazing that they give you eggs but they also have some great qualities and the ISA Brown breed is super friendly and compassionate to the family. They love to jump on your lap and love to be pet and just a great addition to the family.
We have an acreage lot and we have a huge garden and a huge backyard area where we grow many fruit trees and in our garden we have the resources for ourselves and we grow for our chickens as well. My wife and I have two children, one grown up 19 and becoming a mechanic and the other child is 11 and is in grade school. They both love the chickens. My wife is a teacher for special needs children and I work for the military.
We have heard about BYC for some time and have always gathered information from your threads. A great resource.
