the eggs that is

. i have one girl who is laying now, and i have collected 10 eggs. we ate all but 2 of them tonight

. they were starter eggs, so they were rather small. but i did feel guilty afterwards that we ate 8 days worth of labor in one sitting. im hoping the others will start laying soon. they are 27wks old, and the one has been laying 1 egga a day since last monday.

Do not feel guilty. They are earning their keep so to speak. Even if they were smallish they are still worth it IMO.

Ours were small for about the first month of sporadic laying. Now they are nice & large, even the Blue & Green ones are good sized.

It's a feast! No need to feel bad about celebrating. And wouldn't you rather put them to use than risk letting them go to waste?
