We doubled our flock so I doubled our coop

Our hens hatched out a few babies and we ordered 20 chicks this fall so it was time to expand the coop. It isn't pretty but it's rock solid and it only cost me the price of a box of screws. It's mostly built from pallets and wood I've reclaimed from old farm projects. The coop is now 160ft². Enough for everyone to have about 4ft² of space. Next I plan to put a big awning on the outside of the barn to keep the rain and snow from the entrance to the coop.

Love it! Don't worry about appearances; mine is a converted outdoor dog run kennel and looks like a shanty town! But it's functional and serves its's purpose and that's what matters the most!
