She showed up this morning!!! She was sleeping on the island this afternoon, so hubby went and got his cast net. She jumped in the water, but he was able to snag her. Ideally, she would have stayed on land long enough for him to catch her, but that didn't happen. My only concern is that she went under water for about 6 or 7 seconds (with me screaming at hubby to hurry up and not drown her!!! no pressure there right??). Anyway, we brought her inside and clipped her wing and she is now in the aviary with Max. She has a big gash on the bottom of her belly like something had attacked her. I noticed that she was limping a little bit when she got here this morning. It doesn't look like it's a brand new injury, looks like maybe a few days old. She's preening that area alot, so hopefully all is well. We didn't put any kind of ointment on it, as she seemed pretty scared already. Should we try to catch her tomorrow and put something on it? If so, what would ya'll recommend? Also, do you think that her going underwater for that long will hurt her?
