We got our first egg today.

My wife went out to check on the chickens this evening and found this egg between the feed sacks. They didn't lay any in the nesting boxes we built for them. We better start keeping our eyes open wherever we walk in the yard now since our chickens are pastured.

Nice size egg! Put an Easter egg or golf ball in your nesting boxes, then pick up your chicken and introduce her to them, just set her in there, hopefully she will get the point! lol

I'm going to try the golf ball. I don't golf, but we have some golf balls I can put in the nests. Thanks.

Here's the hen one of our poulets laid next to a commercial size large. The egg was still moist and warm when my wife brought it in so we knew it was fresh. She ate it the way she grew up eating them in Korea. She poked a hole in each end and sucked the yummy goodness out, then licked some salt on her hand.
