Hi all! I've been at camp since Friday, so that's why I haven't been online in a while. After I got back home, mom, dad, and I went outside to go feed the animals. We found one of my sweet Buff Orpingtons dead.
I started just sobbing. The coop looks so different without seeing her run to the gate to get treats and hugs.
I'm going to miss her so much. We burried her and I made her a gravestone out of an old piece of wood and put flowers on her grave. Loosing a chicken really stinks!
Earlier today, I huge storm came through with 70 mph winds. We had a metal roof on a cage that was in the coop that they could go in and out of whenever they wanted too, so we think that since the wind was so crazy strong, it picked up the metal roof and when it fell back down it clocked her on the head. We found her right under the edge of the metal roof. That's the only reasonable explination that we could think of. It couldn't have been heat because it was cool today from the storms. Thanks for listening to my rant.
