We Have a Rooster!!!

Hello. My name is Logan and I am new to this community. My family and I recently purchased seven baby chicks (in the spring). We have enjoyed raising them so much and it has been such a great experience for our children in particular. Well, it's been four months now and due to the loud crowing in the morning, we have realized that one of them is a rooster. We live in the city and are close to our neighbors and having a rooster will not work. But we have raised him since he was a 2 day old chick. We are trying to find a way to get a home for him. I have tried calling the various 4-H programs around Northeast Ohio but am not having any luck in terms of a placement. What have other people done when trying to find a home for a rooster? We're kind of stuck but need a good home for the guy. Thank you in advance. ~ Logan

I see people giving away roosters on craigslist all the time. I don't know how successful they are, but it might be worth a shot.

Roosters are a real possibility....... and there is not a lot of demand for them. Put them on craigslist and don't ask questions. I am assuming that so far this bird has had a good life, keep that in mind.
