Hi all,

We have a small piece of property with a barn, horses etc. One of my teenage cousins' friends dropped a rooster at the barn. He had been fairly friendly, but recently had a run-in with a predator and is now not in the best mood. We had planned on getting some hens for him, but I am wondering if this will be ok since he seems to be getting grumpier over time. If I do get him hens, should I get him some peeps and keep them inside till they are big enough, or would he possibly be ok if I can find some grown hens (I am big on animal rescue)?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer!!

I don't know if it will make his mood better? I would go with rescued hens, as even at pullet age he could hurt them if he is grumpy...get your hens all at once so they will make a flock easier, if you add them one here one there then you have fighting. Hope I helped.
