Thanks for setting up the emu cam! I enjoyed watching the second chick hatch yesterday, and I'm enjoying the wee emus.

What happened to the third egg? Will you have any more chicks?

Also I have seen a lot of people still touching the eggs close to hatch, does the "Do Not Open The Incubator!" thing not apply to Emu's?

Sory for the third degree, just getting closer to my hatch date and getting nervous.

The third is still in the hatcher so.... but I have 9 more in the incubator and 8 plus 1 more every 3 days till the end of march or so. So yep we will have many more . 2 due next Sunday 3 more on the 15th. And then about a dozen due in april wheh.

I stopped on day 49 but a week before is typical. Mine hatched on day 51 but I had expected day 56
Don't know about lockdown there is no lockdown in nature and they get an 87% hatch rate..
If the eggs are fertile the best way to spoil it is by doing anything to help out. I like to whistle at them and tap them to encourage them when they pipped it took around three hours to work out good luck
