We have squatting!

My older pullets are 24 weeks and today one very clearly squatted for me. She's been burying the fake eggs for about 2 weeks. I guess soon!

Ok, what does the squatting look like? I've had my girls ducking when I go to pet them for a month now, which I had thought was a squat. Yesterday or the day before I had one of my girls squat really deep and move her wings forward. It almost looked like she was shrugging her shoulders. And she also wasn't able to duck away from me.

She didn't attempt to move away while crouching like normal. The wings went out, and after i pet her she stayed there for a good 20 seconds. It sure sounds like you just saw the same thing.

Ok been squatting real obviously for a week now, no egg yet. She's loud, talking constantly, scratching nest boxes apart, burying fake eggs. Squats if you even move quick, stands up shaking her tail.

Soon? I'd read within days normally of squatting.

She's the oldest I have, nothing fertile to offer! Anyway she's not sitting just messing around in the boxes.
