To tell you that I came inches away from hitting a turkey vulture. I mean INCHES!!! I crested a hill and he was in the center of the road sunning himself (or eating gravel)- but when he flew up, I swear his wingspan was as big as the windshield! It was amazing! I stopped and watched him take off, to make sure he hadn't been hit before, and he flew away just fine. Silly bird

turkey vultures!

I agree that turkey vultures may not be the prettiest creatures on God's green earth, but just watch them fly! I love to see a group of them just spiralling higher and higher into the sky. They look like they LOVE to fly.

We had one almost fly in our open sunroof once. My daughter managed to get the sunroof closed JUST IN TIME. He hit the sunroof, and flew off. We both just sat there kinda in shock.

Then my daughter says to me....Really? Did that just happen? I said, Yep, and at least we both saw it, or no one would believe us.

There was a smudge on the glass of the sunroof. He didn't scratch the paint at least.

We don't drive with the sunroof all the way open anymore....

They are God's cleanup crew, but they dont look the greatest. my uncle hit one with his big rig, it threw up all over the windshield, and since we know what they eat, I wont describe it, LOL
