We lost two more today due to raccoons

One of them was dh beloved pet, i told dh to put out the antifreeze again. Yeah. I know. But it worked before and as a suburbanite I’m not able to set a leg trap and shoot or shovel them and it’s not like any other species gets into them.

Raccoons are the worst. I don’t want their diseases, and frankly I don’t care about their suffering. If there was a helpless baby raccoon in my yard I would shovel it like a rattlesnake.

How are the raccoons getting to your chickens? Wouldn't it be better to predator-proof your run and coop? If they can't get to your chickens, the raccoons will hunt elsewhere.

You can't get them all. When you kill the existing raccoons, more will move in.

Very true. The only solution is to secure the coop so they can’t get it. Luckily we don’t have a ton of raccoons in town. I mean we probably do but there’s lots of trash cans to raid

It’s on the roof where dogs can’t touch it,plus we don’t have a dog

We got rid of them for almost two years before this, this way.
