Weak legs in Pekin

I would triple that amount. Three teaspoons is a tablespoon.

I was afraid to give them too much. Thanks - I'll triple the Brewers yeast. In your experience, is hobbling necessary or might it correct itself with the Brewers yeast, water therapy and (now) secure bedding? I'm nervous about putting on the hobble - the Pekin is very wiggly and I would have to do it myself. I'm afraid I'll drop him or hurt him!

I can identify with your concern. You should have seen me white-knuckled, clipping the plastic leg bands off my two day old runners while my beloved held each one. Oh, I did not want to have to do that, but I knew what would happen if I did not!

While they are young and tissues are more pliable, that's when the things like hobbles can do their work.

Would you be willing to read through the section on hobbles for splayed legs on this page?

LOL, I've already read it and numerous other pages showing how to do it!! I'm still terrified but I'll go get the supplies in the morning and give it a shot while sitting on the floor with lots of fluffy towels surrounding us!!!!

Thanks for your help.

Do you know anyone willing to help? I reached out to a vet tech I knew but not really well, and we took Sechs to her house to remove a stitch from her vent one evening. Hey, I know how to get to know people and make friends!

I have some friends who can help me but not until Monday. I'll pick up the supplies tomorrow and if I get the courage to do it myself I'll try it tomorrow....with those fluffy towels.

All the ducks come to school with me every day. I teach 4th grade and this has been quite a project. It is going to be tough giving them up at the end of the school year. Before I agreed to hatch ducks I made sure I had somewhere (a safe, secure and knowledgeable home) for them to go when they were too big for me to take to the classroom anymore. I really want to keep them but it is not possible at this time.

I found some videos on YouTube so I feel better about putting on the hobble tomorrow... or Monday if the lil bugger gives me trouble.
