weak shells

What can I do to stregthen the egg shell of the eggs that my girls are laying for me? I have offered oyster shell and the eggs are still very fragile...like picking them up and they break fragile. Any suggestions would be greaty appreciated.

Mine do not like oyster shell. Do you have them on layer feed? I have one, a cuckoo marans, that still needs extra or her shells are very thin and then non-existant. I give her crushed up egg shells, yogurt and cheese to boost her calcium. Some crush tums and put that in the water but all my others seem ok.

I feed back egg shells. Nuke them in the microwave for about a minute, let them cool, then crush them up with your fingers...they'll eat them as they need them.

She may be like mine and need extra. I can tell if I slack off on the egg shells...they start thinning. When I go out to feed them she ignores the treats and looks for me to drop the egg shell bits for her.
