We've got a silkie hen that went from being fine to not eating in the course of a few days. We were out of town & she was fine, then came home, notice she's weak, not eating or drinking and her vent was all diahrrea. So far, we brought her in, bathed her, got water mixed with VetRx in her via a dropper, got a little scrambled egg in her, as well as some poly vi sol. I see no mites, all other birds seem fine. Any other suggestions???? TIA!!!

She could be dehydrated - maybe she didn't drink well enough while you were away.
Check to see if her crop is functioning properly and that there is no swelling/bloat of the abdomen.

Having a fresh poop sample tested for worms and Coccidiosis overload would be a good idea as well.

Encourage her to drink, offer poultry vitamins if you have them. Once she is drinking, then see if she will eat more.

Any recommendations on a good dewormer? We put vitamins and electrolytes in thier water. I ordered nutri-drench and often oil.

She's really under weight. Super tiny and before she health. She's got zero energy. Can't stand or barely keep her head up. It's so sad.

How long were you out of town - did you have someone looking after your flock?
How long have you had her - any new chickens added to your flock within the last 30days?

Getting her drinking is your first step, then adding food. You can offer a higher protein feed like chick start or an all flock type feed or give chopped egg, tuna or meat in addition to her normal feed.

Has she laid any eggs?

We were gone 7 days, had a house sitter & we we have been dredging chickstarter, water with vitamins and electrolytes too. They said it got really hot, I'm wondering if that's it. I'm giving her water in a syringe with ACV mixed in. She's just skin and bones :( so sad.
No new birds, all her siblings and that is it. We keep it clean too . I've never deworned though

I know its part of having livestock but man it isn't ever easy to loose one of our babies. I hate it :(
Thanks again for the help!
