What does everyone do in bad weather?? I mean do you chickens stay in the coop can they stay outside?? Not sure what to do.... They aren't going inside on their own don't know if I should make them or what??

Thanks!!

They will go inside on their own when it gets uncomfortable for them. Mine go outside in all weather and really only detest snow and high wind. Light rain doesn't bother them and heavy rain sees them back and forth from cover to open.

My chickens behave exactly the same way. Many chickens are far tougher and hardier than humans give them credit for. Mine are out there in the rain and north wind right now, and it's only 36F.
As you said, they seek shelter when they want it, and my hens have been going in and out of the coop to do their important work just like always. We'll have snow this afternoon, so I may have to shovel a path to the coop once again.

(3 barred rocks hens, 2 black sex-linked hens, 1 BR rooster.)
