Sorry I have to start off my stay with a problem, but I guess that's why I joined!
Over the weekend, my mom put weed killer all over my chicken's favorite places to forage. We only live on .5 acre so we can't put them anywhere else. It's the pelleted kind, so the chickens easily see it, and I worry they look like seeds to them. We've had a big thunder storm before then, but obviously the pellets are still there and I'm worried they are still full of chemicals. I'd really like to let them out of their coop, since we still need to expand it, but I don't want them hurt.
Thanks!

Hello & welcome! The chicks will most likely eat the pellets if they find them, so keeping them confined for now is the safest thing for them. Check on the weed killer package and see when they advise a re-application of the pellets. That date will give you an idea of when you can safely let the hens out again.
If the pellets kill 'only' weeds, you could seed the area with grass so that the girls will have something to eat when let out. Good luck,
