weeding

I'm probably seeing things wrong, but here's what we experienced this year. Weeds typically are of no nutritional value; with a few exceptions. Our place sits on three acres and we don't have a typical "yard" but lots of pasture grass. The first thing to go was anything which resembled normal grass, and then once we were done with our garden, we removed the fence and the only thing left standing right now is a bare ocra main stem. Now that the garden and pasture grass is pretty much gone, the weeds are finely fair game. But there are some none of our flock will touch. They all graze right past it and leave it standing for me to pick and then throw into our composter. The thread Raising Geese 101 does point out a few breeds which are better at grazing than the others.

Good luck on your foraging choice!!
