Ok My 4 wk old SLW hasnt been walking... She eats and drinks and poops just fine, also is alert, but her legs seem week all of a sudden and toes look weird. She just stays in sitting postion. So I was looking stuff up thought it might be a vit deficiency. She started to stand a bit and scoot around now and seems better. I bought some Poly vi sol and gave her one drop by mouth. Then I started reserching further and read to not give with iron. What is going to happen to her? Not to mention it was $10 Ugg Now I have to go out and get without iron

I just hope I didnt do her in now!

Ok good! Its been alone now for 3 days because everyone was stepping on her. I gave her a friend tonight and they are all snugly and happy she was lonely. She really seems better today and is atempting to walk around. What happens with the iron in the Poly vi sol??????????????

It looks alot better this morning was standing a little bit too! I will try and get a pic later. It seems to like the company too.

The amount of iron in the polyvisol is too low to worry about for a one time exposure like yours.

Long term effects of iron on chickens is unknown to me.

No worries. Good to see your chicken is better.

Does any one know what could be wrong with it? BTW the other hatch mates are now visibly bigger and more feathered out that Zoe.

I had a weak-legged cockerel and had no idea what was wrong until i saw him poop a pile of live roundworms

Took a fecal sample to the vet, which confirmed he was heavily infested, the poor soul...

Treated with Piperazine and not a day too soon, had to treat again but he's fine now.

Just a thought... get a fecal sample checked to make sure there are no worms!

Good luck
