Week old and they're trying to fly! D'aww~ (+?)

Sorry everyone, no pictures of the little ones! Camera's refusing to work.

They're so cute, there's one I'm going to end up naming Pilot because she keep jumping off the feeder to 'fly' where she wants to go.

Usually on top of everyone else.

They also try to fly off my hand when I pick them up~ It's so cute! But... Question time!

I don't think I've been handling them enough for the past week, since (of course

) that's when everything else wants attention as well! I'm afraid because I missed most of the week to play with them that they'll forever be afraid of me now. Right now they only come up if I have grit in my hand, or if one is going, 'What are you going to do, giant mystical hand?' while pecking at me.

Is it going to be horrible for the little ones now if I find a way to play with them other than picking them up one at a time now? (Honestly, I think picking them up scares the bijeebers out of em!)

It was my daughter's job to handle every chick at least once every day. They all lived through it. Actually, we would transfer them to a box and inspect and hold everyone.

I think it helps to hold them until they calm down. That way they don't think being held is so bad. Some take longer to calm down...some like it.

They are 9 months old now and most don't mind being picked up and a few do not like it. One will jump up on your arm like a parrot. friendlyness seems to be an individual thing.
