Hi Everyone!

I picked up my new chicks on Sunday from a local breeder they were hatched on Thursday.

Everyone seems to be doing well apart from one little Maran. I’ve noticed the foot is purple and swollen, I’m starting to think it’s injuried it somehow. Appetite for food and drink is great, just doesn’t want to move a lot. Today I noticed it seems to be heavily breathing and sneezing every so often.

I have probiotics and electrolytes in there water and they are on unmedicated organic chick feed.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what this may be or any suggestions to help? Or do you think the foot and breathing is related or maybe separate issues?

I attached a photo of the foot!

Thanks everyone!!!

I’m not too familiar with chick illnesses. But I know anytime something is not right I separate them from the flock. Just because you don’t want to end up dealing with issues with all of them. So many people that know so much on this site I’m sure someone will come along with better information. Best of luck to you. I hope things get better
