week old chick with mama

I have a hen with one week old chick. We made a separate chicken coop and run for her because the other hens were very aggressive and killed 2 of her other chicks. Now she wont leave the enclosure with her chick at all. Its hot here up to 108 and I'm afraid of her overheating but when we try to force her out for a while she gets very agitated. Anybody have an idea when she will venture out on her own? I have always raised the chicks myself but she was so broody we got her fertile eggs. Thanks

When she's ready.
Can you put a fan blowing across her enclosure?
Make sure they have lots of fresh water to drink.

Thank you for the reply.. she's the sweetest, gentle hen ever....was. If she was bigger we'd all be dead meat now! she's super protective of that little one now
