I have just purchased a Weeping Willow Tree and I'm deciding where to plant it. It provides great shade, but is there anything about it that is poisons to poultry? I can plant it away from my coops if necessary. However, if it is safe, I would consider using it to shade my chickens and ducks.

Shallow roots, and tall. They also grow super fast They'll suck a lot of water out of your ground (they do best near natural water sources, over or underground ). So keep all that in mind for placement.

My garden has about a foot of soil before you hit clay. It gets marshy in winter. So I've planted a few to act as "drainage" , but they're never going to be allowed to get above 6 feet. I'm a demon with the shears.
