there are some weevils and shiny red beetles in my chicken feed that i got from th store today not many, maybe like 20 in 8 pounds of feed. is it safe to give to my chickens?

Its probably safe, but you should let the feed store know that they got "buggy" feed. Take yours with you to show them. They should replace yours with fresh feed or give your $ back.

hey superdude, there fine, the eat protein, and if you notice that thers, probelly alot of dust in your food, if chickents eat, its protein for them, they after months they will detirote your food, but if ya have many birds you won't notcice a differance.. i would take it back if there is already alot of dust =in bag, but really no biggie.

hope this helps, happens to me all the time

if they eat all manner of bugs, why couldn't they just eat the bugs in the food?

seems like it would just be an added treat.

Well, it's not exactly the same thing. On the tag of some of the feed I get, it says DO NOT feed moldy or bug-infested feed. The vitamin content is very much lowered, they grind the feed into fines (powder), etc. To me, infested feed is not the same as a bug they eat off the ground.
