Well Freckles got out of her coop, had some scratches on her wing and was weezing. I think it was stress, since avains are very fragile things.

BooBoo was getting on in years and had lost a lot of weight, she was skin and bones. I'd seen it coming for a while. Still sad.

That's the problem with pets. They don't live as long as you. Maybe I should get a big ol' parrot and a tortoise or something.
