Do chickens lay better if they make it to a certain weight? It seems like I get very little eggs from the birds I have and they also seem to be much smaller than my neighbors' birds even though we have some of the same breeds. What am I doing wrong?

It could just be down to the individual genetics of the birds. Some people breed for looks, some for production, some to conform to show standards.

Birds same age?

Diet can make a difference.
Do you and your neighbor feed the same thing the same way?
Do you free range?
