Weird Behavior

I have a chicken who puffs up kinda like what a turkey looks like. I was wondering if anyone would know why or if they had seen it before. She’s a buckeye hen and has been doing it recently.

She is broody. Chickens do this when they want to have babies/sit on eggs til they hatch.

Oh to me she looks broody?

When they are broody they like to sit on eggs and in the box right? She doesn’t do any of that.

It could be broody, but if she is not sitting on the eggs at all then I doubt it.

I’ve seen chickens relaxing in the sun and they don’t do what she does. They usually lay on either side with a wing stretched out.

Mine do it all the time without laying down, especially when free-ranging. Can't you tell by the picture?

She usually does it when other chickens come towards her and start to get in her space. I can walk towards her and she starts puffing up.

If she is broody, how can I help her come out of her broody period?
