I bought three chickens about a month ago and I thing they were molting when I got them well, now I have one that has laid about two eggs and now I am getting soft shelled eggs like three this morning. I do believe that this chickens that I got are battery chicken for they do not lay in the nest boxes. Well two of the chicken are pale in the face still and do not have much fluff on the rear. They are also whizzing and sneezing and I feel this is from the environment that they came form. I started oyster shell yesterday for that was when I found the first small soft shell egg. I do not like the idea of feed them there own egg shell.
I did have them all on antibiotic for 7 days the first of the month and they have been off that for a week now. I have no way of seperating them for the reast of my chickens for I don't have another coop to put them in.
I do notice that they do not come out of the coop much and I have locked them out for an hour or so late in the day. there food is in the coop to keep it dry and the keep other birds out of it. Any ideas for getting them out more and treats don't work to well.
