So I have white campbell ducks (rare breed basically they look like a mini pekin but genetically they are close to khaki campbells etc. That's a story for a different day cause everyone always questions what that breed is) and I just hatched out some ducklings (I've had their eggs hatched quite a few times I wanna say this is like this 5th or 6th batch of eggs hatched from them , I just sell the ducklings tho I don't keep, only ever kept 3 ducklings hatched from them) and for the first time ever one hatched out with a crest on the neck, at least that's the only way I know how to describe it, but it's not just long hair on one patch instead it has a body part sticking out (imagine a very short spaghetti noodle of flesh) and then the baby fur is on that, I know I'm describing it badly but I've never seen this before and so I don't know how to describe it well, also worth noting this breed is not crested nor have I ever had a crested duck hatch from them also I apologize pictures aren't great but I couldn't get great close up of the fleshy part
Also I'm just confused cause all pictures of crested ducklings I've seen the crest is on top of head not on neck but also I've never dealt with crested ducks before because I know how bad it is on the animal to have the crest so I've never wanted them before
