weird cross results= new breed? Pictures!!

Is there a name for this coloring?

As they stand, not really. I doubt whethe one could make this colour breed true as so much of it is the result of being 'split' for different genes.
Clearly the black male wasn't just black, & he was silver under the black. They've probably got a columbian gene from the RIR (or dark brown). The male is both silver & gold. The pullet appears to have a pattern gene & probably a melanotic from the black giving an almost laced look.

Thats what I figured. So if I crossed them, it would be who knows what, or would it go even more into one of those patterns in there genes, say laced or barring?

OH except one thing, the rooster looked exacly like her at that age, only uglyer. :lol

It definitely is a very pretty color. Almost mottled like a houdan but not quite.
I have several Polish crosses. Most are crested, some larger than others. One is very pretty blue.

They are very pretty! I hope you are able to get look alike babies

It looks like a feather footed cochin, with a mix of mottled java, light brahma, silver campine, and black australorp
i would call that color mottled

To breed true is to throw chicks of the same coloration. They might not the first generation and then breed more true to a second, or like Krys said they'll remain scattered because of the combative nature of those pairs of genes.

Kind of like Doodles, golden or lab doodles - they don't breed true, the characteristics desired do not set, so they never will be a BREED. They are only a designer mutt.

That's the requirement for any breed - that they breed true. In dogs the requirement is 12 generations that breed true.

Fortunately in chickens that is not the case or it would take FOREVER to create a new breed.
