My 2 leghorns chickens are about 4 or 4 1/2 years old. For the last 6 months or so, they have been laying less, which is ok and normal I think. However, most of their eggs whites are very white looking and often the white slides completely away from the yolk when I crack into a bowl or skillet. We have not been eating them, they just look pretty funky. Anyone seen this before or know what is happening?

I've never seen that before, and I’d probably continue to not eat them.
What food are they getting?
Have the chickens been acting unwell?

Did they freeze in the coop before you brought them in?
No, I wouldn't say there has never been an egg frozen, but certainly not all 4 of these. The eggs have been like this for probably 6 months or so. Well before freezing weather. These 4 were fresh. Not all the eggs are like this, but most.

@GrandmaCathy
What are the temps where you and your chickens live?
How long since these eggs were laid and how were they handled and stored??
I live in Ohio, so its cold. I get the eggs every day, so they are not frozen. I put them in the frig when I bring them in. These eggs were laid in 2-3 days before cracking into bowl. I can bring the egg directly in after getting it warm from the nest and it will look like this when I crack it. Not all the eggs are like this, some look perfect. But more than half like this at least for the past 6 months or so.
